BPC-157: Chemical Identity and Documentation

BPC-157 is a synthetic peptide containing 15 amino-acid residues. This reference explains its chemical identity and the documentation needed to evaluate a laboratory material. It makes no claims about health, recovery, performance, or clinical effects.

Chemical identity in the reference database

The US National Library of Medicine’s PubChem record identifies BPC-157 as compound CID 9941957 and gives the molecular formula C62H98N16O22, with a molecular weight of approximately 1419.5 g/mol.

These fields describe the reference molecule. They are not test results for an Astra Biolabs product. A molecular formula states the numbers of atoms in that reference structure; molecular weight is a property of that structure, not the amount in a vial.

What does “peptide” mean?

Peptides contain amino-acid residues connected by peptide bonds. A compound’s sequence and chemical form matter when identifying it. A name alone is not enough to confirm a sample’s composition.

Reading a 10mg listing

A milligram quantity on a listing is a label quantity. It is distinct from molecular weight, a chromatographic purity percentage, and a laboratory assay. Check the actual label and applicable documentation rather than treating these values as interchangeable.

Our HPLC and LC-MS guide explains identity, purity, and assay results. The COA checklist explains how to match a report to a batch.
